Zathura: A Space Adventure

Recently I watched “Zathura: A Space Adventure,” not expecting too much from it since I thought that it would merely be a “Jumanji” knock-off.  Surprisingly, I was actually quite wrong.  While it is true that, at the most basic level, the story is about two kids that are pulled into a game that destroys their lives until they finish it, there are several rather interesting twists, and they consist of more than just setting the game in space. continue »

The State of the Personal Address(es)

I had an intriguing thought the other day.  My thought was this: when will phone numbers be phased out?  That sounds impossible, given today’s emphasis on everyone have a mobile phone with them all the time and, inherently, a phone-number.  It did get me thinking, however, about the various forms of addressing schemes that we use for different aspects of our lives.  Now I do not foresee phone numbers disappearing in the near future, but it makes for an interesting discussion, nonetheless.
